My charge point shows as offline in the app
If a charge point appears as offline or unknown in Leafy Energy, communication with the back end or your home automation may be temporarily disrupted.
1. Check the physical connection
- Verify that the lights on the charge point indicate it has power.
- Confirm whether it is connected via Wi-Fi, ethernet or 4G, depending on the model.
- If the manufacturer allows it, power-cycle the charger briefly.
2. Check the integration in Leafy Energy
- In the app go to Settings > Cars and chargers.
- Check if the charge point is still listed as connected.
- Remove and re-add the charger as a test (in the demo this uses a fictional device).
3. Temporary cloud issues
- Some chargers depend on the OEM cloud platform for all communication.
- An outage there can make the charger appear offline in Leafy Energy for a while.
In training you can reproduce this with a demo charger that occasionally flips to offline, helping support staff practice the right questions and explanations.
