Why does my graph look different from the meter reading?
Sometimes the graph in Leafy Energy doesn’t exactly match what you see on the physical meter. That does not automatically mean something is wrong.
Different resolution
- Leafy Energy may round data to 15-minute or hourly blocks.
- The physical meter typically shows a continuously increasing counter.
Time zones and daylight saving time
- Around DST changes graphs may appear shifted by one hour.
- In the demo we show this effect on a fictional date.
Post-processed corrections
- Grid operators can correct readings after the fact.
- Leafy Energy applies these corrections, so historical graphs may change slightly.
This article is useful when talking to customers who check every kWh; it helps explain how we move from “raw meter data” to a readable graph in Leafy Energy.
