Deposits and moving house: how does it work?

When you move, not only your address but also your energy profile often changes. Leafy Energy uses both your old and new situation to calculate an appropriate deposit.

Old address

• Your contract at the old address is closed with a final settlement.
• Deposits already paid are offset against actual usage up to the move date.

New address

• Your new deposit is estimated based on home type, household size and smart settings such as EV charging and home battery usage.
• You can manually adjust the suggested amount in the app.

In demos you can show two graphs side by side: the old yearly profile and the predicted new profile, so customers understand why their deposit changes.
