Why does smart charging override my manual plan?
Sometimes it looks as if Leafy Energy is ignoring your manual schedule. In most cases, this is due to failsafes or safety limits that take precedence.
Examples of failsafes
- A hard minimum SOC to prevent you from being stranded.
- A limit on the maximum price per kWh (or, alternatively, on maximum CO2 intensity).
- Main fuse protection that blocks higher charging power.
Where to find the explanation
- The analysis tab shows when a failsafe was triggered.
- It also indicates which rule “won”: your schedule or the failsafe.
In demos, this is a great way to show that Leafy Energy is not a black box: every deviation from the schedule is explained in plain language.
