A home battery is a long-term investment. With a few smart choices in operation and settings, you can maximise its lifetime without having to think about it every day.

Step 1: Avoid unnecessary 0% or 100%

• Configure a minimum state of charge in Leafy Energy (for example 10–20%).
• Limit the time your battery sits at 100% by not using “always full” as a permanent goal.

Step 2: Choose a gentle strategy

• Do not always pick the most aggressive cost-saving profiles.
• Slightly softer strategies often yield nearly the same savings with fewer charge cycles.

Step 3: Mind the temperature

• Avoid very hot or cold rooms; ideal operating temperature is usually between 10 and 30 °C.
• Leafy Energy alerts you if battery temperature stays outside this range for too long.

The dashboard shows a simple view of your battery “health”. If it slowly trends towards orange, Leafy Energy will suggest tweaks to your strategy.
