A robust strategy takes the health of your battery into account. Concepts like C-rate and charge limits are key here.

What is a C-rate?

• The C-rate expresses how fast you charge or discharge relative to capacity.
• With a 10 kWh battery, 1C equals 10 kW of charge or discharge power.
• Higher C-rates offer more flexibility but stress the battery more.

Charge limits in Leafy Energy

• You can configure a maximum charge and discharge power in kW.
• You can also define a daily cycle limit, for example no more than one full cycle per day.

Balancing lifetime and savings

For some profiles, Leafy Energy provides an indication of expected cycles per year. In demos you can show how aggressive strategies increase savings but also cycle counts, and how more moderate settings strike a balance.
