Night charging, daytime discharging
One of the simplest Leafy Energy strategies is: charge at night when electricity tends to be cheap and discharge during the day when prices and consumption are higher.
When does this strategy work well?
- You have no or limited solar generation.
- Your consumption is clearly higher during the day (cooking, washing, home office).
- Grid tariffs are relatively high in daytime hours.
Configuring this in Leafy Energy
- Open Charging and discharging strategies.
- Select the “Night charge / day discharge” profile.
- Set the night window (for example 00:00–06:00) and your minimum buffer (for example 20%).
- Optionally set a maximum discharge power to keep in-home peaks under control.
Demo tip
Show a chart where grid import is slightly higher at night (for charging) and clearly lower during the day because the battery covers part of the load.
