What to do after a power outage

Outages can be caused by grid work, storms, overloads or faults in your own installation. Leafy Energy can show the impact, but switching power back on should always be done carefully.

After a neighbourhood or grid outage

• Wait until the grid operator confirms that power has been restored.
• Check that devices are in a safe state (no covered hotplates, open heaters, etc.).
• Consider switching on heavy loads only gradually.

If a circuit breaker or RCD has tripped

• Try to identify the appliance that caused the fault by unplugging devices.
• Only reset the breaker or RCD after removing the suspected cause.
• If it trips again immediately, call an electrician.
