An emergency brake for extreme price spikes

Besides subtle smart control, it is useful to have an emergency brake scenario: when prices become extreme, Leafy Energy and your home automation system instantly turn off a set of non-essential loads.

Typical devices in an everything-off scenario

• Electric space heaters and decorative heaters.
• Non-essential lighting (garden, ambience lights).
• Comfort loads such as towel radiators.

How to configure it

1. Define an “extreme price” threshold in Leafy.
2. Create a “Leafy emergency” group in Home Assistant or Homey.
3. Use a flow or automation to switch this group off when the threshold is reached.

In demos this scenario is visually impressive: non-essential loads literally vanish from the consumption graph while critical loads continue unaffected.
