Always hot water, fewer high-price peaks
A water heater is a textbook example of flexible load. You want hot water at all times, but it does not matter exactly when the tank heats up. That makes it a perfect match for Leafy Energy tariffs.
Typical settings
- Minimum water temperature (for example 55°C for safety).
- Maximum total heating time per day.
- Allowed time windows (for example avoiding daytime high-load periods).
Example logic
- Leafy analyses the next 24 hours of prices.
- The water heater is scheduled into the cheapest price blocks.
- Only if comfort is at risk (temperature too low) may it run outside those windows.
In demos, this use case clearly shows how many hours have been shifted into low-price periods and how much that saves on an annual basis.
