Which cars work with Leafy Energy smart charging?

Leafy Energy supports a growing list of EVs and PHEVs. This article explains how we think about compatibility and gives examples of popular models.

Three levels of support

• Full integration: the car is connected via the OEM cloud API. Leafy Energy can see charge status, SOC, and departure times.
• Charger-based control: Leafy Energy controls the charge point but does not talk to the car directly.
• Basic mode: only simple time schedules without SOC feedback from the car.

Examples of commonly used brands

In demos we typically show a mix of brands (for example Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, Tesla, Renault, BMW) to illustrate different levels of integration:

• Cars with rich APIs (SOC, GPS, departure schedules).
• Cars controlled mainly through the charge point.
• Older models that only support basic timers.
