If you use Home Assistant, Homey, or other smart home systems, your first month is the perfect test window. You may not have much historical data yet, but you do have live prices and consumption.

Safe testing

• Start with non-critical devices such as lights or a washing machine you don’t rely on constantly.
• Use “dry runs”: let automations send notifications first instead of switching devices.
• Log in your smart home system which actions are triggered at which price levels.

From test to production

• Once you’re satisfied, enable the real actions (for example a relay or smart plug).
• Check in the Leafy Energy charts whether your consumption is actually shifting.
