Grid operator vs energy supplier: what’s the difference?
During a power outage it is not always obvious whether you should call the grid operator or Leafy Energy. This article clarifies the roles.
Contact your grid operator when:
- You see an outage affecting multiple streets or the wider area.
- You notice damage to cables, substations or street cabinets.
- Your smart meter shows an error that is not solved by restarting your installation.
Contact Leafy Energy when:
- You have questions about your usage during or after the outage.
- You are unsure about invoices or compensation schemes.
- You experience issues with the Leafy Energy app, dashboards or notifications.
In the demo environment we often show a scenario where the customer first calls the grid operator about the outage and then uses Leafy Energy to understand the impact on consumption and costs.
