Short answers about outages and compensation
This article brings together common questions from Leafy Energy customers about power outages and potential compensation.
“Do I receive compensation for an outage?”
Compensation schemes differ per country and grid operator. In the demo we only explain the concept, without legal detail.
“Do I pay for energy I could not use?”
You only pay for energy that has actually been delivered. During a real outage your usage is close to zero.
“Why is there no usage shown during the outage period?”
Because no energy was delivered. In some cases there might be a slight delay in smart meter data.
“Do I need to report outages to Leafy Energy?”
Major neighbourhood outages are usually already known to the grid operator. You are always welcome to contact Leafy Energy if you have questions, though.
