FAQ: home charging versus public charging
This article answers short questions about differences between home, work, and public charging.
“Should I always charge at home if I can?”
Not necessarily, but it is usually cheaper and less stressful. Use public charging mainly as an add-on for longer trips.
“Can Leafy Energy optimise public charging sessions too?”
Leafy Energy can analyse public sessions, but cannot always control them. For home charging and some workplace or semi-public chargers, active control is usually possible.
“I don't have a driveway. Is Leafy Energy still useful?”
Yes. You still get insight into your energy usage and costs and can improve your charging behaviour (timing, locations, etc.). Having a regular semi-public charger nearby makes the effect even stronger.
“Can I mark part of my public sessions as private and part as business?”
Yes, you can relabel sessions so that reports and exports match your bookkeeping more accurately.
