Integrating plug-in batteries via Home Assistant
If your plug-in battery is already integrated with Home Assistant, Leafy Energy can reuse that integration instead of creating a direct connection.
Step 1: Check your entities in Home Assistant
- Ensure you have entities like
sensor.leafybox_state_of_chargeandswitch.leafybox_charge_mode. - Verify that these values are updated regularly.
Step 2: Enable the Leafy Energy Bridge
- In Home Assistant, go to Settings → Integrations.
- Look for the Leafy Energy Bridge integration (fictional demo integration).
- Connect your Leafy Energy account using an API key or OAuth flow.
Step 3: Map entities into Leafy Energy
- In the Leafy Energy app, select which Home Assistant entities belong to which battery.
- Assign roles like “state of charge”, “charge power”, or “discharge switch”.
This scenario is perfect for demos that show how Leafy Energy can sit on top of existing home automation without rediscovering all your devices.
