Government levies and climate surcharges
In addition to energy tax and VAT, you may see extra levies and climate surcharges on your invoice. These are used to fund, for example, renewable energy projects or grid reinforcement.
Types of levies in this demo
- Climate surcharge: a fixed or variable fee per kWh.
- Grid reinforcement levy: a contribution for expanding the electricity grid.
How are they displayed?
- On the invoice under the heading “government levies”.
- In the app as separate components in the cost stack, so you can show their share of the total price.
Leafy Energy does not control the level of these surcharges, but does make them as transparent as possible across all screens.
