Balancing control and trust
Good logging helps you troubleshoot issues and understand security events. At the same time, you do not want logging in a Leafy Energy home to become a source of privacy conflicts.
What can you log?
- Which automation ran at what time.
- Who changed an important setting (such as temperature profiles).
- When devices were last seen online.
What should you avoid logging in detail?
- Exact movement patterns of residents, unless strictly necessary.
- Detailed camera footage, unless it lives in a dedicated security system.
Leafy Energy demos
In demo environments, Leafy Energy primarily shows anonymised logs (for example “Admin changed profile X”). This allows you to explain the idea of auditing without getting personal.
