Your smart home starts with your network

A well-secured home network is the foundation of a safe Leafy Energy home. Many attacks target poorly secured Wi-Fi or weak router settings.

Wi-Fi security

• Use modern standards such as WPA2 or WPA3, not outdated WEP.
• Set a long and unique Wi-Fi password.
• Consider a separate guest network so visitors have no access to smart devices.

Router and firmware

• Update your router firmware regularly.
• Disable remote management features if you do not use them.
• Change the default router login (avoid admin/admin).

Segmentation (advanced)

Advanced users may create a dedicated “IoT network” for Leafy Energy devices, automation hubs, and sensors. This limits the impact if a single device turns out to be vulnerable.
