Testing backup without flipping the main breaker

You want to know if your backup profile makes sense, but you do not want to literally plunge your street into darkness. That is why Leafy Energy includes a simulation mode.

What does simulation mode do?

• Pretends the grid is down while leaving the physical connection untouched.
• Simulates how the battery would charge/discharge based on your chosen profile.
• Shows which devices would be switched off or throttled first.

Starting a simulation

1. Open the Backup tab in Leafy Energy.
2. Select an existing backup profile (for example “Essentials only”).
3. Click Start simulation and choose a scenario (1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours).

Interpreting the results

• See how quickly your battery would drain with your selected loads.
• Get suggestions about loads that should be downgraded from “critical” to “comfort”.
• Save the simulation as a baseline for future tweaks.

In the demo environment this is a great way for users to experiment with backup strategies without any impact on real hardware.
