Switching when you have a smart meter
If you have a smart meter, you might wonder whether it needs reconfiguring when you switch. Luckily, that’s usually not necessary.
What happens during the switch
- Your meter stays the same; only your supplier changes.
- The grid operator makes your consumption data available to Leafy Energy.
- You don’t need to physically replace or reset the meter.
What you do need to do
- In the Leafy Energy app, confirm that you agree to smart meter readings.
- During the first weeks, verify that charts and readings look plausible.
Without a smart meter you can still be a customer, but some features (such as hour-by-hour optimisation) will be limited.
