Costs vs usage: which chart to use when?

Usage or cost: what are you looking at?

Leafy Energy frequently offers two types of charts: one for kWh and one for €. They look similar, but answer different questions.

Use the usage chart (kWh) for:

• Technical questions: “which day did I use the most energy?”
• Device comparisons: “how does the heat pump compare to the boiler?”
• Comfort discussions: “was it really that cold that heating had to run more?”

Use the cost chart (€) for:

• Budget: “why is this month more expensive than last month?”
• Dynamic pricing: “did we actually avoid the most expensive hours?”
• What-if scenarios: “what if we shift more into cheap night hours?”

In the Leafy Energy interface you can quickly toggle between kWh and €, or view them in a combined chart. That way you see not only how much you use, but also what it really costs.
