Example: reading a cost overview
In this example we walk through a fictional Leafy Energy cost overview for one month.
Step 1: total cost
At the top you see the total amount for electricity (and gas, if applicable) for the selected period. This is the sum of all components.
Step 2: breakdown by category
- Usage-based costs: everything billed per kWh or m³.
- Fixed costs: subscription, connection charges, and other fixed items.
- Taxes: energy tax, VAT, and other levies.
Step 3: drill down to day or hour level
By zooming in on days or hours you can see which moments were expensive or cheap. That helps you think of concrete actions (for example shifting more usage to nights).
This kind of overview is perfect in demos to show that dynamic energy doesn’t have to feel “chaotic” when visualised clearly.
