Structure of your Leafy Energy tariff line
On your Leafy Energy invoice you’ll see one or more tariff lines for electricity. This article explains how such a line is built up.
1. Energy component (market price)
This is the dynamic price per kWh coming from the wholesale market. In Leafy Energy you see it per hour in the app.
2. Supplier markup
On top of that there is a small per-kWh markup. This covers:
- procurement and risk management;
- customer service and platform development;
- balancing supply and demand in the background.
3. Grid fees (where applicable)
Depending on your market, grid fees may be shown separately or included in a combined tariff. In the Leafy Energy demo we show this component transparently.
4. Taxes and levies
Finally, legal taxes (such as energy tax) and VAT are added. These are government components, not Leafy Energy-specific.
Adding all layers together gives you the all-in price per kWh shown in your dashboards and cost overviews.
