During a heatwave, AC units tend to run non-stop. With Leafy Energy, you can design a scenario where comfort and cost remain balanced by cooling intelligently according to dynamic prices.

Scenario goals

• Keep indoor temperatures within a comfortable band throughout the day.
• Perform extra pre-cooling during cheap price windows.
• Limit AC power during extreme price spikes.

Blueprint approach

1. Leafy Energy supplies price levels (cheap/normal/expensive) and short-term forecasts.
2. Indoor temperature sensors provide live comfort feedback.
3. Automation logic:
   • At cheap: cool more aggressively towards the lower bound of the comfort band.
   • At normal: cool only to keep temperature stable.
   • At expensive: run AC only when comfort exceeds a critical threshold.

Extra tricks

• Automatically close blinds or shades during heat and high prices.
• Turn on fans before relying on AC to stretch comfort.
• Add a “panic button” in the app: temporarily force comfort mode, for example when guests are over.
