Combined with Leafy Energy, Home Assistant can turn your home battery into a smart buffer: charge when energy is cheap (or sunny), discharge when prices spike.

Basic strategy

• Charge when price is low and SOC is below a target level.
• Discharge into household demand during high-price peaks.
• Always reserve a minimum SOC for outages or emergencies.

Entities and automations

• sensor.leafyenergy_price_now drives the decision to charge or discharge.
• sensor.leafyenergy_battery_soc tracks the state of charge.
• A service leafyenergy.set_battery_mode controls the battery controller.
