With Leafy Energy integrated into Home Assistant, you can build automations that respond to price levels. Turn devices on during cheap hours and off again when prices spike.

Example: automation for cheap hours

1. Go to Settings > Automations & Scenes.
2. Create a new automation triggered by sensor.leafyenergy_price_now dropping below a threshold.
3. Add actions to switch on a smart plug or appliance.

Example triggers

• Price below X cents per kWh.
• Next hour is cheaper than the current one.
• Leafy Energy event “Cheapest block starts now”.

By treating Leafy Energy prices as first-class citizens in Home Assistant, you can model anything from simple washing machine timers to complex multi-device coordination.
